PURPOSE:The titled dispersant which is useful for agricultural chemicals, has improved suspension stability, improved compatibility with other agents and low foaming properties, obtained by polymerizing an unsaturated carboxylic acid, etc., by the use of an organic thiol compound as a chain transfer agent. CONSTITUTION:The titled dispersant comprising a (co)polymer obtained by (co)polymerizing one or more monomers selected from an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, an esterified substance and an amidated substance thereof, an alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, an esterified substance and an amidated substance thereof and an alpha,beta-ethylenic unsaturated monomer except the above- mentioned monomers by the use of a compound shown by the formula R-SH (R is 8-24C alkyl, aryl, arylalkyl, etc.) as a chain transfer agent or a salt thereof as an essential component. By using the dispersant, a wettable powder which contains an active ingredient in high concentration and has improved initial dispersibility can be obtained.
