PURPOSE:To reduce a working distortion exerted to a major plane of an ultrasonic wave solid-state delay element remarkably and to decrease the cutting time by fitting a converting element to a delay block where plural delay media are provided in comb-line and cutting the linked part along the comb-line slot. CONSTITUTION:A delay block 10 provided with a lind par 12 at which at least the converting element 13 is fixed, and plural delay media 11 whose thickness is finished in a comb-line. The process fixing the converting element 13 at its link part 12 and the process cutting the link part 12 along the comb-line slot 14 is provided. That is, plural delay media 11 made of a material such as glass are provided in the delay block 10 in comb-line and they are integrated by the link part 12. The gap between the delay media 11 is the slot 14. The thickness (t) of the delay media 11 is a finished size of the ultrasonic wave solid-state delay element. The delay block 10 is manufactured by pouring molten glass into a comb-line die in advance and cooling the glass.
