PURPOSE:To decrease voltage drop even in the early stage of high rate discharge, to shorten the recovery time of voltage, and to continue these effects even after a long storage period of time by adding vinyl polymer having chlorine substituting group and a tin compound to an electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Vinyl polymer having chlorine substituting group and a tin compound is added to an electrolyte. As this vinyl polymer, for example, polyvinyl chloride is used. The adding amount of the vinyl polymer to the electrolyte is 0.2-10g per 1l of the electrolyte, and especially its preferable content is 0.3-5g/l. If the content is less than 0.2g/l, voltage drop can not effectively be retarded, and of it exceeds 10g/l, the effect is not only increased but also discharge capacity may be decreased. As the tin compound, di-t-butyl stannic chloride on the like is used and its preferable content is 1-10wt% of the vinyl polymer added. |
