PURPOSE:To enhance a combination of light transmittance, electrifiability characteristics, and resistance to deterioration tendency due to time lapse by incorporating an oil-soluble dye classified into the C.I. Solvent Red-84 in a binder resin for the toner. CONSTITUTION:The oil-soluble dye classified into the C.I. Solvent Red-84 is selected from various kinds of oil-soluble dyes, and dissolved in the toner binder resin. This dye belongs to a 1:2 type metal-containing complex salt monoazo dye, and this dye having the trade name of 'Spilon Red GEH(R)' of HODOGAYA KAGAKU Ltd. can be obtained in the market. It has not only good solubility in the toner binder resins, such as polyester type, acrylic type, and styrene type resins, but also exhibits sharp magenta hue in a dissolved state, thus permitting the obtained magenta toner to be superior in spectral transmittance characteristics, and stable in developability characteristics and electrifiability characteristics, independent of variations of circumstantial conditions, such as atmospheric humidity and temperature. |
