791,251. Changing wave shape. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Aug. 26, 1955 [Ausg. 27, 1954], No. 24593/55. Class 38 (2). A pulse forming network comprises a transistor 10 with a square wave generator 14 connected across the base and emitter electrodes and an oscillating L.C. network 16, 15 connected between the base and electrodes 13, 11 to which are connected output terminals 17, 18. The losses in the L.C. network are such that the circuit has less than critical damping. Figs. 2 (c), 2 (d), 2 (e) and 2 (h) show respectively the input voltage and current and output voltage and current in a resistive load when the impedance of generator 14 is much less than that between emitter and base electrodes 12, 13. With reversal of this impedance ratio, the output voltage is shown in Figs. 3 (c). The transistor may be of P-N-P or N-P-N type. |
