摘要 PURPOSE:To measure the number of fine particles in a short time, by adjusting the relative position between an optical microscope and a sample base to computer the number of fine particles per unit amount of passage liquid based on the number of fine particles taken by the optical microscope, the area of a filter and the amount of liquid passing through the filter. CONSTITUTION:The amount of water to be inspected having passed through a filter is memorized 34 and the filter is mounted on a sample base 20. A sample base moving mechanism 24 moves the sample base 20 in the directions of X, Y and optical axis on a plane perpendicular to the direction of optical axis of an optical microscope 10 with motors 21-23 to determine the position of focus by adjusting the relative position between the microscope 10 and the sample base 20. Then, the number of particles is measured at the position adjusted with the mechanism 24 and likewise, measurements are done at other measuring points. The totalized number of fine particles are measured at specified measuring points is multiplied by the ratio between the surface area of the filter and the sum of the areas at the measuring points to calculate the total number of particles trapped on the filter. Then, the total number of particles trapped is divided by the total amount of liquid memorized in the device 34 to calculate the number of fine particles per unit amount of passage liquid.
