PURPOSE:To contrive higher image stability, oil resistance and plasticizer resistance, by providing an undercoat layer comprising a specified substance on a base. CONSTITUTION:An undercoat layer comprising particulates of a styrene-acrylic copolymer compound and a phenolic substance of the formula, wherein R is a 1-24C alkyl, as main constituents is provided on a base, in a thermal recording material utilizing a color forming reaction between a leuco dye and a color developer. By this, a thermal recording material can be obtained which is excellent in preservation stability of images, oil resistance and plasticizer resistance and is substantially free of ground color development. |
