PURPOSE:To enhance developability and transferability by forming a thin layer containing an organotitanic compound on the surface of a magnetic toner containing a magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:The thin layer formed on the surface of the toner contains the organotitanic compound, such as orthotitanic acid ester, the organic derivatives of orthotitanic acid, polyorthotitanate, or titanium chelates, and as the orthotitanic acid ester, the compounds represented by formula [1] are used, and as the polyorthotitanic acid ester, the compounds represented by formula [II] are used, In these formulae, each of R1-R4 is methyl, ethyl, n- propyl, isopropyl, independent of each other, thus permitting the thin layer containing the organotitanic compound to improve the toner in electrostatic charge ability, charge injectability, and charge exchangeability without lowering the surface resistivity of the toner. |
