In the case of an air-conditioning system for motor vehicles which can be switched over to cooling or heating operation, with a refrigerant circuit which comprises a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve and an evaporator, there is arranged between the compressor on the one hand and the evaporator and the condenser on the other hand a four-way valve which reverses the flow direction of the refrigerant. Between the condenser and the evaporator there are connected two parallel lines, one of which contains the expansion valve and a non-return valve opening towards the evaporator and the other of which contains a non-return valve opening towards the condenser and also means which, during heating operation, carry refrigerant from the evaporator to the condenser, said means being designed such that, in this arrangement, a minimum amount of refrigerant passes from the evaporator to the condenser. |
