PURPOSE:To enable a wiper to smoothly perform sweeping operation in a silent manner by disusing a crank link means for driving a wiper by the use of a wiper arm which is extended and contracted by a gear mechanism so that a window glass can be swept. CONSTITUTION:A pivot shaft 1 is pivotably supported by a pivot block 5 through a bearing 6 and reciprocally pivoted by a drive unit. A gear chamber turns reciprocally together with the reciprocal turning movement of the pivot shaft 1, and a planetary gear 12 rotates and revolves, so that an eccentric cam 14 is reciprocally turned. A drive rod 15b is reciprocally moved in a longitudinal direction by the reciprocal turning movement of the eccentric cam 14 so that pinion gears 20a, 20b are reciprocally turned. Due to the turning movement of the pinion gear 20b, a wiper arm 17 is extended and contracted, thereby a wiper blade sweeps the surface of a front glass 4. |
