PURPOSE:To make an electro-shield needless by inclining a part of a side wall adjacent to the outer edge of an annular flange of the shadow mask frame to the panel side wall. CONSTITUTION:A side wall 11 adjacent to an annular flange 12 of a frame 10 made of carbon steel comprises a basic region 11a nearly rectangular to the flange 12 and an outer edge 11b inclined from the basic region 11a to a panel side wall with angles of 10 deg. to 90 deg.. Since the outer edge 11b of the frame is inclined to the panel side wall, it is possible to prevent a non-effective electron beam 7, which is emitted from an electron gun mounted in the neck of a funnel 4 and excessively deflected, from being emitted to a phosphor screen 8 side.
