For a cutting appliance on a loading truck, it is proposed, for the at least partial switch-off of the cutters, to arrange the cutter support, in its working position, in a self-holding dead-centre position by means of a spring device and pivoting levers and to make it possible to bring it into the inoperative position by pivoting out of this dead-centre position. This results in a simple and easily operable switch-off device which involves little outlay in terms of construction and space and which is suitable for cutters having individual cutter protection.
