A device is claimed for the closing of a molten metal vessel comprising a fixed plate with at least one aperture and a moving plate with at least one aperture. A means is provided to apply these plates against each other and to enable the apertures to be slid opposite each other. The fixed plate has an internal nozzle whilst beneath the sliding plate (4) a collecting nozzle is provided. The upper part of this nozzle has a channel of smaller diameter than the aperture of the sliding plate whilst the lower part has a channel of larger diameter.
