PURPOSE:To enhance rise characteristics at a white level and prevent conspicuous lines from being formed in a direction perpendicular to a line head, by ensuring well-balanced energization of a block consisting of odd-numbered ones of a plurality of heat generating resistors and a block consisting of even- numbered ones of the resistors. CONSTITUTION:A first pulse generating means 16 is supplied with reference density data corresponding to odd-numbered heat generating resistors R1, R3 and outputs a pulse when the data reaches a value indicating a maximum density. A second pulse-generating means 17 is supplied with reference density data corresponding to the odd-numbered heat generating resistors R1, R3, and generates a pulse according to the data. A third pulse-generating means 18 is supplied with reference density data corresponding to even-numbered heat generating resistors R2, R4, and generates a pulse according to the data. Means G1-Gn, T1-Tn are supplied with the pulses outputted by the second and third pulse-generating means, and supply the corresponding heat generating resistors R with an electric current for each unit density according to the values of the pulses. |
