PURPOSE:To enable formation of a latent image without causing an edge effect, such as reversal and whitening, by successively laminating an insulating layer, plural photoconductive layers each sensitive to each chromatic color, respectively, and a surface insulating layer on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body is formed by laminating on a conductive substrate 1, an insulating layer 2, the first photoconductive layer 3 sensitive to the first chromatic color A and generating electrostatic charge, the second photoconductive layer 4 transmitting the first chromatic color A, having sensitivity to the second chromatic color B other than A and generating charge, and a surface insulating layer 5. An electrostatic latent image is formed by successively executing uniform exposure and primary charging, secondary charging in polarity opposite to the primary charging and imagewise exposure through a filter for transmitting A, tertiary charging in polarity opposite to the secondary charging or AC charging and imagewise exposure through a filter transmitting the complementary color of A, and the final uniform charging. As a result, the formed latent image is prevented from interaction between the external and internal latent images of the photosensitive body and an edge effect. |
