PURPOSE:To obtain an ink sheet which forms a resin film having an adequate stability against the thermal energy of a thermal head and a high slip properties, by providing a polymer layer prepared by cross-linking of polyvinyl alkylcarbamate (PVCR) with multifunctional isocyanate on one side of a plastic film, and a thermal transfer ink layer on the other side. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording ink sheet has a polymer layer formed by cross-linking of PVCR with multifunctional isocyanate on one side of a plastic film, and a thermal transfer ink layer on the other side thereof. As PVCR, a reaction product of polyvinyl alcohol and monoisocyanate containing an alkyl group having a carbon number of 5 or more is employed. Further as the multifunctional isocyanate, aromatic, alicyclic and aliphatic isocyanates are available. A film used as a support is a resin film having a high surface smoothness and dimensional stability. The thickness of a film support is preferably approx. 3-15mum. |
