PURPOSE:To miniaturize a cam shaft driving device by providing a tensioner on a belt slack side and an accessory driving pulley on its tension side respectively, in the case where a crankshaft drives the cam shaft of a double overhead cam shaft engine through a timing belt. CONSTITUTION:In the case where a cylinder head part is provided with two cam shafts 3, 4, and a crankshaft 7 drives the gears 5, 6, 9, mounted on each of the said shafts 3, 4 through a timing belt 10, a tensioner 13 which a spring 44 draws constantly inward is provided on the slack side of a belt 10. In addition to that, an accessory driving pulley 11 is provided on the tension side of the belt 10 to push the belt inward. The tensioner d13 is mounted on an eccentric shaft 20, and applied force due to the spring 44 toward the tension side on its one end by a driving plate 21, and held by a hydraulic adjuster 14 on the slack side. The tensioner 13 and the accessory driving pulley 11 can be wholly set inside the gears 5, 6 to miniaturize a cam shaft driving device. |
