PURPOSE:To contrive a simpler mechanism, higher reliability and a lower cost, by providing a pair of toner-attracting former-stage electrode arrays, a toner- accelerating intermediate-stage electrode array and a latter-stage electrode. CONSTITUTION:A toner 7 fed along the surface of a sleeve 6 of a magnet roller 5 by rotating the roller 5 is ejected under attraction by the potential (electric field) of former-stage electrode arrays 1, and when it reaches the gap G between the electrode arrays 1, it is attracted with acceleration toward an intermediate- stage electrode array 3 under the effect of the electrode array 3 having a potential higher than that of the electrode arrays 1. Thereafter, the toner 7 is attracted by a latter-stage electrode 4 having a still higher potential disposed on the rear side of a printing paper 9, and is adhered to the paper 9. Controlling circuits 10, 11 are provided for controlling the ejection of the toner. The potential given to the electrodes, that is, the ejection of the toner is controlled by turning ON and OFF the controlling circuits 10, 11, thereby determining the black (toner present) and the white (toner absent) of an image. Accordingly, the image is formed directly on the printing paper without using a transferring photosensitive drum, a so that mechanism is simplified, and higher reliability and a lower cost can be contrived.
