PURPOSE:To greatly enhance the control flexibility of the fuel injection characteristic, by providing a solenoid valve for controlling the pressure of fuel in a high pressure chamber, and by providing a solenoid valve in a plunger drive passage for supplying fuel into a pressure chamber. CONSTITUTION:A unit injector B injects fuel fed from a supply source A, into a combustion chamber. A solenoid valve C controls the injection pressure of the unit injector B. A solenoid valve D controls the drive of a plunger 3 disposed in the unit injector B. A control device E controls the operations of the solenoid valves C, D. Thus, it is possible to flexibly control the fuel injection timing, the fuel injection amount and the fuel injection rate. |
