A track-free, two-component articulated vehicle set 1 for passenger transport is formed from two buses 10 and 110 which are coupled together by their rear components 11 and 111 by means of a coupling 2 and can be steered and operated in both travel directions. The two buses 10 and 110 each have in themselves all the devices required for their operation. For mechanical steering of the rear wagon 110, control yokes 28 and 128 with steering rods 123 and 123a are provided with which the steering lock of the front wheels 16 when cornering is transmitted in a positively guided fashion via the steering device 115 to the rear wheels 116. <IMAGE>
