PURPOSE:To remove malfunction due to the failure of a coordinate position detecting device and to surely prevent the generation of troubles of operation by controlling the working state/non-working state of an original carrying means based on a signal for detecting the existence of a cover. CONSTITUTION:If an operation button is depressed when a digitizer 42 is still covered with the cover 60 after the end of the preceding copying operation, an original Pa on a tray 23 is sent, copied and discharged on the cover 60. When an original Pb is positioned on the digitizer by a regulation plate 65a and covered with the cover 60, a switch 62 is turned on and copying operation is started. Therefore, the device is driven only the closed state of the cover 60 without turning on the switch in error at the opened state of the cover 60, discharging the original whose temperature is raised by the radiation heat of an exposing light source to the surface of the digitizer and damaging the original and the generation of original jam due to the failure of receding of the regulating plate 65a can be prevented. Thus, the troubles of operation can be surely removed. |
