Equipment having a glass vessel (1) for the chemical reaction of the substances to be reacted with other reactants under vacuum or protective gas in the molten state at elevated temperature becomes substantially universally usable for a series of the most varied reactions without cleaning problems occurring if a, preferably metal, insertion beaker (16), secured against twisting, is inserted into the glass reaction vessel which is hermetically sealed in operation, which beaker receives the reacting substances and reaction products and is coupled to a heating medium provided on the outside of the glass vessel (1) via a heat exchanger liquid (19) immediately surrounding the beaker in the glass vessel (1). <IMAGE>
