PURPOSE:To know the contents or the type of a video source in a slave picture side without interrupting a TV broadcasting program in a master picture side by displaying the contents or the type of the video source relating to a slave picture video based on a video source discriminating signal. CONSTITUTION:The movable contact 7d of a video source signal change over switch 7 is changed over and moved in response to a video source change over signal from an operating part 1. From a frame generating circuit 9, a slave picture frame signal and signals SH and SV formed in the frame generating circuit 9 are applied to a frame synthesizing circuit 10, a master and slave picture synthesizing circuit 11 synthesizes a master picture video signal with a slave picture frame synthesizing signal and outputs the synthesizing output to a CRT 12 as a master and slave picture synthesizing signal. On the television picture of the CRT 12, the character (A) is projected on a master picture display part al, the character (B) is projected on a slave picture display part a2 and a color corresponding to the type of the video source is projceted on a frame display part a3. Thereby, the type or the contents of the video source in the slave picture side can be known without interrupting the viewing of the TV broadcasting in the master picture side.
