In the case of an arrangement for the longitudinal fixing of the inner conductor (4), with respect to the outer conductor (6), of a coaxial cable (2) for broadband communications systems, the ends (3) of the inner conductor (4) project with respect to the respectively associated end (5) of the outer conductor (6), and these ends (3) are exposed. In the case of such an arrangement, enhanced longitudinal fixing is achieved in a particularly simple manner if a hollow cylindrical insulating body (7), which is placed onto the end (3) of the inner conductor (4) and has an external diameter which corresponds at least to the external diameter of the outer conductor (6), is pressed against the outer conductor (5) with the aid of a metallic cylindrical body (8) which is mounted on the free end (3) of the inner conductor (4). <IMAGE>
