The invention relates to pipe bundle apparatuses, which preferably work according to the trickling film principle and are used for condensation and cooling of steam-gas mixtures. The invention is based on the object of creating pipe bundle apparatuses in which an optimal heat exchange takes place, the free cross section between the pipes of the pipe bundles is dimensioned to correspond to the existing condensation of the steam-gas mixture for approximately the same speed, and installation conditions and apparatus arrangements are taken into account by combination of the individual pipe bundles. The object is achieved in that in a standing pipe bundle apparatus preferably three pipe bundles are provided, which corresponding to the existing condensation of the steam-gas mixture exhibit a free cross section between the pipes in the ratio of 1:0.75:0.6, and the pipe bundles are combined in such a way that two bundles with a ratio of the free cross sections of 0.6 and 0.75 are combined in an upper pipe bundle separated by suitable separation walls or three pipe bundles with the above cited cross section ratio are arranged one above the other. All embodiments have separation walls in intermediate frames for removing the cooling water. <IMAGE>
