In a U-shaped handle for suitcases, briefcases or the like, provided with a weather strip and consisting of two shell-shaped longitudinal halves which can be connected to one another at their limb ends by hinge pins and between which the weather strip is fixed, no secure fixing of the weather strip is guaranteed. To avoid this disadvantage, the weather strip has at its ends two limbs which extend between the limbs of the longitudinal halves of the handle up to their free ends and which have bearing eyes at their free ends with which they are mounted pivotably on the hinge pins of the handle.
