The invention specifies an optical device by which the muscles responsible for adjustment of the visual acuity can be exercised in that objects or texts visible in the near field of the eye can be continuously moved to and fro by an infinitely adjustable zoom-like focal adjustment in its apparent distance from the eye of the user between the actual distance and many metres.
