PURPOSE:To obtain a material to be recorded which produces a recording image having a proper surface gloss, high optical density, resolution, water- proofness, abrasion resistance, weather resistance, rich coloring property and a high visibility, by providing an ink transportation layer having numerous micropores which are communicated in a vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:A material to be recorded consists of an ink transportation layer and an ink holding layer, the ink transportation layer has numerous micropores which are communicated in the vertical direction. The ink transportation layer has liquid permeability which allows adhered ink to be absorbed and penetrate quickly almost without causing the ink to dye. On the other hand, the holding layer absorbs and holds the ink or dye which has been transferred from the ink transportation layer. The ink holding layer stably absorbs and traps the ink which is temporarily absorbed into the ink transportation layer, so that the ink holding layer has to have more powerful ink absorption than the ink transportation layer. Consequently the ink holding layer should have a high affinity with dye as in the case with a liquid medium contained in the ink. |
