PURPOSE:To attain a superior re-recording without recognizing the reproducing image of a magnetic disk, by recording a track of one record ordered from the vacant track of the magnetic disk, after the elimination of an existing record, when a mode is not set at a continuous recording mode by a continuous recording setting switch. CONSTITUTION:A vacant track detecting means, and a record presence/absence deciding means are formed by a head 7, a signal detection circuit 10, and a control part 5. When no continuous recording is set, after the vacant track 6' of one track immediately behind the first existing record on a loaded disk 6, is detected, a still picture of one field is recorded on the vacant track 6' by the first time recording operation. After completing the recording, the presence/absence of the record of the next track 6' behind the vacant track to be recorded at the next, is decided, and also, when the existing record is present on the next track 6', the recording is performed after erasing the track 6'. Hereinafter, the recording of one field is performed in order on each track 6' behind the vacant track 6'. |
