PURPOSE:To obtain a resin which has stable physical properties and is inexpensive and useful as vibration-proof, soundproof, sound insulating, corrosionproof and waterproof materials, by mixing petroleum pitch and asphalt with a vinyl chloride resin. CONSTITUTION:A bitumen-filled resin is obtd. by kneading petroleum pitch and asphalt with a vinyl chloride resin to homogeneous mix them. The petroleum pitch is rich in aromatics, well affinitive with the vinyl chloride resin and thermoplastic and has a high softening point so that the heat resistance of the vinyl chloride resin is not deteriorated. About a half of the petroleum pitch is composed of fixed carbon so that it has an excellent reinforcing effect. When asphalt alone is used, it is difficult to mix it with the vinyl chloride resin. However, when asphalt is used together with the petroleum pitch, the asphalt can be homogeneously mixed with the vinyl chloride resin by kneading. The petroleum pitch and asphalt are well-bonded to each other, can be stably dispersed, are not separated from the resin and does not cause staining due to the exudation of oil. |
