PURPOSE:To facilitate the formation of the title air-permeable film of any desired pore diameter, by heating a composite film comprising an (inorganic filler containing) thermoplastic resin and a porous base to a specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:A resin component (B) is obtained by mixing 100pts.wt. thermoplastic resin which is at least one polyolefin resin (a) selected from among a PE resin, a PP resin, an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer resin and an ethylene/ethyl acrylate copolymer resin with, optionally, 1-200pts.wt. inorganic filler (e.g., CaCO3) of a particle diameter of 0.01-100mum. A 1-1,000mum-thick composite film obtained by closely adhering component B to a porous base (A) such as nonwoven fabric of nylon, PP, polyester, rayon or the like, bleached cloth or paper is subjected to, if necessary, embossing and heated for 0.1sec-60 min at a temperature higher than the softening point of component (a).
