PURPOSE:To produce a graphic form, etc. at a high speed and with high accuracy by displaying image information as well as a grid on a display screen and then moving freely the position of the displayed grid on the screen. CONSTITUTION:In a grid display mode an operator selects a mark for display of a pop-up menu by a mouse 22 to display this menu on a display 21. Then the operator selects an item shown in 'grid' out of the menu by the mouse 22. Thus a window 32 is displayed within the display 21 as shown in a figure. The grid is displayed in point with selection of an item 'spot' and then in square with selection of an item 'line' respectively. Then the grid space is supplied in the numeric value via a keyboard 23. When the grid is moved, an item 'grid position' is selected on the pop-up menu. Then the mouse 22 is moved freely and a button is clicked with a cursor is set at a standard point. Thus a new original point is fixed.
