PURPOSE:To enable signals on adjacent two oblique planes in a V-shaped groove to be reproduced as the ones with superior quality independently and simultaneously by one laser spot, by minimizing a crosstalk component by subtracting a detector signal having an appropriate magnification on the other side from the detector signal on one side, and pulling mainly the crosstalk components against each other. CONSTITUTION:The signals on the two oblique planes are reproduced simultaneously by two detectors using one spot. In this case, it is assumed that the signals from detectors L1 and L2 are set as (a) and (b) respectively, and the signals in which the a above signals are multiplied by M2, as (c) and (d), and furthermore, the signals in which the latter are multiplied by M1', as (e) and (f). The product of the M2 and M1' is M1, and two signals S1=(e)-(d), and S2=(f)-(c) are used as reproducing signals. In this way, the signals on the adjacent two oblique planes in the V-groove can be reproduced simultaneously and independently by one laser spot.
