PURPOSE:To facilitate comparative observation, simplify the operation and improve the efficiency of observation by providing, as well as a means of realtime display of the television image under observation, a means of displaying other information and a means of easily switching the information to be displayed or giving concurrent display. CONSTITUTION:Real image on a phosphor plate 7, namely electron microscopic image currently being observed is converted to electric video signals by a TV camera 8 and is fed to a control section 10. A character generator 9 generates character signals to be displayed, simultaneously with display of the real iamge, such as acceleration voltage and the rate of magnification which are required for obtaining the electron microscopic image, and feeds them to the controller section 10. The character signals and the video signals of the electron microscopic image are edited and processed by the controller section 10 to be simultaneously displayed on a CRT, and they are displayed as real image and characters on the CRT 17 through a switch 13 and an operation console 16. The edited and processed video signals are also fed to a VTR 11 and recorded in it as required.
