PURPOSE:To obtain a diamond tool excellent in heat resistance and strength, by exposing a diamond dust and a mixed dust with Si and Fe under a high temperature and a high pressure of 50kb or more and 1,300 deg.C or more for 5min or more to be sintered. CONSTITUTION:A diamond dust of starting material is heated in a vacuum, and its one part or whole part is converted into graphite. A mixed dust is prepared by Si, containing relative ratio 0.05-3.0% Fe by volume to diamond, serving for a binding phase to 80-95% diamond by volume. A hard quality abrasive structure is manufactured by processing said mixed dust in a high temperature and a high pressure. The above obtained abrasive material, which provides strong connection between diamond grains with a binding phase of SiC in a high sintering quality, is excellent in heat resistance and strength as a material for various tools.
