摘要 PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a shape memory alloy leaf spring by spirally winding a long-sized sheet material consisting of a shape memory alloy on the outside periphery of a cylindrical body and heating and holding the same to and at a prescribed temp., then quickly cooling the material to the martensite transformation temp. or below. CONSTITUTION:The long-sized ribbon material 10 made of the shape memory alloy such as Ni-Ti alloy is wound at a prescribed spiral angle theta on the outside periphery of the heat resistant cylindrical body 12 having an outside diameter 2R and both ends thereof are fixed. The above-mentioned ribbon material 10 is heated and held in this state to and at the prescribed temp., for example, about 400-500 deg.C in the case of the Ni-Ti shape memory alloy, in a furnace to convert the material to the maternal phase. The above-mentioned ribbon material 10 is thereafter quickly cooled down to the martensite transformation temp. or below to memorize the above- mentioned winding shape of the radius R of curvature. The stock layout of the leaf spring is preferably executed by removing the above-mentioned ribbon material 10 from the cylindrical body 12, leveling and flattening the material at the temp. below the reverse transformation initiation temp. and blanking the leaf springs symmetrical to axis from the material in such a manner that the axial line thereof coincides with the above-mentioned spiral angle theta.
