PURPOSE:To enable the control of the quantity of steam generated by a boiler to a prescribed level, by detecting the quantity of water supplied to a boiler and controlling the calorific power of a burner so as to keep the supplied water quantity to a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:A steamer 2 of a tea-processing apparatus is supplied with steam generated from a boiler 8 furnished with a mechanism to keep the water level in the boiler to a definite level. A flow meter 15 is attached to a feed water pipe 9 of the boiler and a fuel control valve to control the calorific power of a burner 4 is attached to the burner. The fuel control valve 7 is controlled in a manner to keep the feeding rate of water to the boiler at a definite level.
