PURPOSE:To produce articles having excellent resistance to scuffing, durability, dyeability, and fashionability by providing a transparent polysiloxane hard film on the surface layer of a base material for articles and subjecting the hard film to pattern dyeing by a disperse dye. CONSTITUTION:The transparent polysiloxane hard film formed by curing the hydrolyzate of the compd. expressed by the following general formula is provided on the surface layer of the base material for the articles consisting of ceramics, plastics, metals, procelain, glass, tiles, etc., and the hard film is subjected to the pattern dyeing by the disperse dye (lenses are not included in said articles): RSi(CH3)x(OR<->)3-x (R is an org. group contg. a glycidoxy group; R<-> is a hydrocarbon group of 1-5C or acyl group of 1-4C, X is 0 or 1). As a result, the articles which have the excellent resistance to scuffing, durability and dyeability and the excellent fashionability not possible with the conventional articles are produced.
