PURPOSE:To set optional desired source information by scanning a sheet for input, detecting source information and storing the detected source information into a RAM. CONSTITUTION:In order to input source information, the user of a facsimile equipment writes optional desired source information to be inputted in the designated frame of the sheet for the input, and as well as the time of transmitting a usual facsimile, the sheet for the input is set to a facsimile equipment. A video signal (b) obtained by scanning the sheet for the input in the main scanning direction and sub-scanning direction is sent to a mark detecting circuit 131. A source writing frame preparing circuit 132 removes a source information part only from the video signal (b), sends it to a serial parallel circuit 133, converts it to a parallel source information signal, and thereafter, writes it into a RAM 134 successively. Thus, the source information is set.
