The axle 19 is secured to a resilient shock absorbing structure in the form of a disk of hard rubber 23, which in turn is secured to a mounting plate 24 fixed to the suitcase wall or shell 26. This arrangement allows vibrations resulting from contact of the wheel with the ground to be absorbed before they reach the case.
