PURPOSE:To recover a fault of a communication terminal automatically and quickly by stopping power supply from a master station via a communication line connected with the terminal of failure detection tentatively at the time of fault detection of the terminal. CONSTITUTION:A D-channel monitor 20 detects a fault state of a digital telephone terminal at the time of communication control and the count value of a fault detection counter is a prescribed value or below, then a feeding circuit 24 is controlled to stop the power supply to the digital telephone terminal via a communication line 3 tentatively. The power supply of the digital telephone set is turned off tentatively and the power is restored by restarting feeding. If the fault of the communication terminal is due to runaway of a control program coused by power noises, the normal return, that is, fault recovery is aplied by the initializing of the said control program at the time of re-application of the power supply.
