<p>PURPOSE:To raise concentration of useful high-molecular weight substance in a culture solution and to contrive to improve collection efficiency of the substance, by providing a suspension culture system with a means to remove low-molecular weight substances to inhibit growth and a culture solution circulating means. CONSTITUTION:In a system for cultivating a multiplicative animal cell to produce a useful high-molecular weight substance in a suspension state, a circulating path (D, G) of a culture solution at the outside of a culture tank (AP-1) is equipped with an ultrafilter AP-2). Consequently, low-molecular weight substances which are metabolites of the animal cell and inhibit growth of the cell are removed, the cell is multiplied in high density and concentration of the high-molecular weight substance produced is increased.</p> |
