PURPOSE:To decrease the number of signal lines and to increase the number of stored lines in a communication line switch by converting a control signal of an interface signal for the communication controller and a modulatordemodulator into a serial signal for transmission/reception. CONSTITUTION:A parallel control signal 104 from the communication controller 1 to the modulator-demodulator 2 is converted into a serial signal by a serial signal sending section 102, sent to a serial signal reception section 201 via a serial signal lin 121, converted into a parallel signal and connected to the modulator-demodulator 2 via a control signal line 204. Similarly, the parallel control signal from the modulator-demodulator 2 is converted into a serial signal by a serial signal transmission section 202 and sent to a serial signal reception section 103 via a serial signal line 121. Thus, the number of signal lines is reduced.
