PURPOSE:To make it possible to judge twisting degree of yarn readily, by applying given tension to spun yarn of air false twist type, grasping the spun yarn by two clamps at a fixed interval, continuing rotation of one of the clamps in the direction of untwisting and obtaining 1/2 number of rotations when the tension of the spun yarn reaches the same tension again as twist index of the spun yarn of air false twist type. CONSTITUTION:In measuring twist degree (twist index) of spun yarn which is twisted by air jetting, spun yarn 1 is stretched under given tension between two clamps 5 and 7 set at a given intervals and the spun yarn 1 is grasped by the clamps 5 and 7. One of the clamp 5 is fixed and the other clamp 7 is rotated in the direction opposite to twist. The spun yarn is relaxed with untwisting, rotation is further continued, number of rotations is read when the given tension is reapplied to the spun yarn and 1/2 the number of rotation is obtained as the twist index of the spun yarn. |
