PURPOSE:To provide the titled filament composed of a composition obtained by dispersing a polyolefin in a polyvinylidene fluoride polymer, having high smoothness and excellent spinnability, strength and gloss and suitable for fishing- line or fishing net, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective filament is composed of a composition produced by dispersing (A) a polyolefin (preferably PE, PP or poly-4-methylpentene-1) at an amount of preferably 0.01-1.0wt% in (B) a polyvinylidene fluoride polymer (e.g. vinylidene fluoride homopolymer, copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and tetrafluoroethylene, etc.). The filament can be manufactured from the composition by melt-spinning the composition, blasting an inert gas such as air against the spun yarn and introducing the yarn into a cooling liquid bath of -10-+80 deg.C before the initiation of a crystallization of the composition caused by the cooling of the yarn. The produced yarn is drawn by conventional process.
