PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized inexpensive and simple thermal transfer apparatus, constituted so that a transfer material having an electrostatic toner image and a foil sheet formed by providing a foil layer on a film base material are placed on the flat pressure receiving surface provided to a pressure receiving stand and a transfer body is grasped to apply pressure along the guide part provided to the pressure receiving stand side to thermally transfer the foil layer to the surface of the toner image. CONSTITUTION:Base paper 7, a transfer material 9 and a foil sheet 4 are placed on the plate-shaped pressure receiving member 2 having a heat insulating property and elasticity such as a silicone mat arranged to a pressure receiving stand 1 in such a state that the surface of a toner image 10 and that of a foil layer 6 are mutually overlapped and the transfer material 9 is held between the base paper 7 and the foil sheet 4. Subsequently, the grasping part 13 of a heating transfer body 11 is grasped not only to press a heater roller 12 heated, for example, to about 180 deg.C to the upper side of the foil sheet 4 but also to allow said roller 12 to tumble and slide from an adhesive part 8 toward the other end side along protruded guide parts 34, 34A under heating and pressure. At this time, the heat of the heater roller 12 is transferred to the toner image and the resin component contained in toner is melted to adhere the foil layer 6 to the surface of the toner image 10. |
