PURPOSE:To obtain an electronic typewriter capable of eliminating the shift of the rotary position of a printing wheel and capable of not only preventing erroneous printing but also enhancing reliability, by once returning a printing wheel to a home position when key input operation is generated after the elapse of an allowance time. CONSTITUTION:A home position detecting memory means 12 stores that a home position detector 11 detects the home position of a printing wheel 6 and, when the detection of the home position is stored in the home position detecting memory means 12, the printing wheel 6 is returned to the home position by a home position return means 13 in response to key input operation after the elapse of an allowance time and again rotated from the home position to a position where the type 8 corresponding to the printing code inputted by the aforementioned key input operation is opposed to a platen 9 by a printing wheel re-rotating means 14. Therefore, even if the rotary position of the printing wheel is shifted after the elapse of the allowance time, said shift is eliminated by the next key input operation and erroneous printing can be prevented. |
