PURPOSE:To clearly specify a position for editing and to facilitate operation by providing a position specifying means with a rotation detecting means and a roller which has a part of its peripheral flank projected from a bottom surface, and connecting the rotary shaft of the roller to the rotation detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A mouse 36 for position specification for edition is connected to a main body 12 by one extensive cord 38. Namely, the mouse 36 is moved on an original 50 mounted with the original surface up at every positions on an original platen 14, a cover 18, etc., to perform the position specification for editing. The rubber roller 116 which has part of the peripheral flank projected from the reverse surface of a case is fixed to the rotary shaft 108 of a rotary encoder 106. The movement distance of the mouse 36 on the original is converted into the rotation of a slid disk 110 by the rubber roller 116. The slid disk 110 interrupts light from a light emitting element 112 at constant intervals according to its rotation, so the voltage signal of frequency corresponding to its rotational speed is outputted from a photodetector 114. |
