<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer type electronic typewriter capable of performing erasure under low current consumption, by mounting a second drive means stopping the supply of a current to a stepping motor during a time when a current is made to flow to a head by a second heating means heating the head for the second time in order to erase a horizontal one dot. CONSTITUTION:After the elapse of a definite time by a timer 13, the voltage applied to a stepping motor 4 is turned OFF by a second drive means 9. That is, if a value turning all of transistors OFF is outputted, a current ceases to flow to the stepping motor. At this time, if voltage is applied to a head 2 by a second heating means 8, a head current flows but an entire current gets off with small quantity and a peak current necessary for erasure can be reduced. Next, after the elapse of a definite time by a timer 14, if the voltage applied to the head 2 is turned OFF by a second cooling means 10, a current ceases to flow. As mentioned above, by dividing a time applying voltage to the head 2 into two, the head 2 can sufficiently discharge heat energy and high quality erasure is possible and the life of the head can be extended.</p> |
