PURPOSE:To enhance ignitability and safety, by providing a region of a relatively higher fuel gas concentration at a part of a combustion plate or in the vicinity thereof, and fitting an ignitor and an abnormal combustion sensor in said region. CONSTITUTION:A fuel gas passed through a gas-supplying pipe 83 is sucked into a scroll casing 49 through a gas suction port 48b together with combustion air, and is supplied through a gas-supplying branch pipe 84 to a straightening plate 64 provided in a mixing chamber 44 in a burner case 4. The fuel gas supplied directly to the straightening plate 64 is mixed with combustion air to form a mixed gas having an excess air ratio lower than those in other parts. The mixed gas having a high fuel gas concentration is ejected through small holes provided at an outer peripheral part 36 of a combustion plate 31, is rapidly ignited by a spark ignitor 33, resulting in the combustion on the plate surface of the outer peripheral part 36, and the combustion is propagated over the entire surface of the plate 31. A thermo-couple 34 is fitted on the downstream side of the outer peripheral part 36 to detect the temperature of combustion flames. Accordingly, abnormal combustion due to deficiency of oxygen or the like can be early found, and stable ignition can be performed. |
